Market guide · Ghana
Ghana imports a large share of the eggs and poultry meat it eats, which is exactly why local layer capacity keeps expanding. Here is how the equipment gets in, and what holds up in Ghanaian conditions.
Tema handles the great majority of our Ghanaian shipments and is the sensible default for anywhere from Accra up through Ashanti. Takoradi can make sense for the Western Region, though the road onward to Kumasi is not obviously better.
Sea transit from Tianjin or Qingdao runs 35–45 days. Clearing at Tema is more predictable than at some West African ports, but plan on one to two weeks rather than the few days an agent will quote you.
Ghana operates a pre-shipment conformity assessment through the Ghana Standards Authority. As with Nigeria's SONCAP, it has to be initiated before the goods leave — raise it with us at quotation stage and we handle the inspection.
We supply commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, fumigation certificate and our SGS and ISO documents as standard. Your bank or clearing agent will tell you what else the current regime requires.

Configuration
Ghanaian buyers are more likely than most in the region to start at 10,000 birds and plan for 30,000. If that is your trajectory, take the H-type from the outset rather than replacing A-type cages in year three.
Supply around Accra and Kumasi is far better than it was, but few commercial farms run without backup. Size the generator to carry feeding and manure motors as a minimum.
Anywhere near the coast, hot-dip galvanising is the whole argument. Electro-galvanised cages look identical on day one and show rust at the weld points within a few seasons.
| Flock | System | House | Container |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5,000 | A-type, 3 tiers | 40 × 10 m | 1 × 20GP |
| 10,000 | H-type automatic, 4 tiers | 60 × 12 m | 1 × 40HQ |
| 20,000 | H-type automatic, 4 tiers | 76 × 13 m | 2 × 40HQ |
| 35,000 | H-type automatic, 6 tiers | 88 × 14 m | 3 × 40HQ |
Indicative. Final layout confirmed once we see your land dimensions.

Ghana desk
The same team handles every Ghana order, so they know the corridor, the paperwork and which questions to ask before a container is booked rather than after.
We sell factory-direct and also supply established dealers in Accra and Kumasi. Direct is cheaper for a single house; a local partner is worth the margin if you want spares on short notice.
Yes. Give us your flock size and we return a CIF Tema price so there are no freight surprises after the contract.
Numbered drawings and video guidance come as standard. For houses above 20,000 birds most buyers take engineers on site, with flights, visa, accommodation and daily allowance covered by the buyer.
No cost, no obligation — an engineer draws the house before you decide anything.
